Steeringn noise on a 2001 Honda CRV

I have a 2001 Honda CRV. Lately, when I turn the steering wheel, it makes a wierd noise. Do you think it is something simple like the power steering fluid being gone or is it a symptom of a more serious problem?

Have it checked, usually you will found the fluid in the power steering reservoir is low.

Do not dwell on the past, nor worry about the future, for tomorrow may not be there. Live today to the fullest, and enjoy life!

It could be something as simple as power steering fluid,or,if it's making a  'clicking' noise,it could be CV joints going out-if your car is front wheel drive.I'd get it checked out, anyway.Hope this helps, and have a good one!

Cool

What goes around comes around

I think the problem may be with the steering wheel pump. When this pump is damaged there can be many problems with steering including strange sounds. Keep in mind that turning the wheel to the extreme on either side can damage the pump. I would look into this direction.

Of course, as mentioned by other answers, the problem could be the fluid in the pump and then of course it'll be less costly.

Hope your car gets back into high gear soon.

I plan to change the tyres of my 2006 CRV.  What're the options that I have to consider prior to purchasing them.  I've clocked 45,000 on my car and think that it's high time to change.

Would appreciate views on this matter.

Has anyone noticed a "squeaking" sound with the steering wheel? It's not obnoxious or anything ...just never noticed this on previous cars.
