Mechanics replace "parts" till it's fixed, ASE Technicians replace the part that fixes the problem!

You don't have to replace the steering column, but it takes some very special tools and good experance to remove the steering wheel and several other componants to get access to the 4 male torque head bolts that secure the piviot assembly to the column that seem to always come loose. You will have to take it to a good repair shop or dealer to get it repaired before you start breaking things in the column.
