There is no way to happiness.    Happiness is the WAY!

A:

Remember when news was just news, with dear Walter Cronkite he gave us the facts, the man cried when President Kennedy was assassinated. Walter was excited when John Glenn orbited the earth. The news now is so competitive due to Cable or Satellite each station has to get it out to the people first and fast. The down and dirty facts must be given to the people even if the facts are not confirmed. Look what happened to Dan Rather "CBS fired him!"

I watched CNN during the Katrina Hurricane and cried my eyes out seeing the live coverage of what was happening to the people at the Dome. How our government services did not help (FEMA, Red Cross, National Guard etc.) for three days, yet the news Media was there.

I watched the Presidential Campaign and flipped channels and notice what a difference in coverage regarding Democrates/Republicans.

So go ahead and watch the channel you prefer MSNBC, CNN, Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS,Headline News, etc. it is your choice.

I just keep going back to Fox!

Meow - you are absolutely correct about the Walter Cronkite era of news.  I'd much rather have it that way than the way it is now.  Some of these news- casters try to become "personalities", even on the network news shows.  It's distracting and annoying.  I just want the facts, that's it.

Oh, the Katrina debacle was very upsetting.  I never understood how WallMart and Oprah Winfrey were able to get truckloads of food and water into New Orleans, yet FEMA was paralyzed.  I was struck immediately by the thought that if our government is so incompetant that we can't get help to our own folks after a hurricane, can you imagine if we were ever attacked on a nuclear level - even with a "dirty bomb"?

Now, that's scary.
