Is a statement necklace to jazz up last year’s fall’s collection better than buying a new fall outfit?

I love statement jewellery but that necklace isn't my cup of tea as I have a high collar bone and necklaces like that often sit oddly. I think long pendants look brilliant, I have a crystal guitar pendant that I wear all the time.
