Starting the engine on an engine stand.

if i have a slant 6 engine on an engine stand and I wire it to start it, how do i wire the starter to disengage from the flywheel after it cranks

Fear not cause not ain't nuthin to fear nohow!

I would think that if you had the engine stand properly grounded the bendix would retract the starter gear automatically.  I wouldn't swear to it but it does seem logical.  Hope that helps.

when u let go of the switch the starter disengages automatically.

The strter will disengage when the engine starts and power is broken to the starter selioid . Do not attempt to start this engine stand!
