This is a good question, my recommendation is to develop your palate first, then venture out and try various blends and wrappers, eventually finding your own niche within the wide field cigar selections; afterall everyone's palate is unique, and is subject to change throught the years.
For instance when I started a little over ten years ago, I smoked Padron's for the most point, now I smoke all but te-amo's, flor de oliva, and other bundled mix-fill cigars. I've got a wide variety from Acid's to Zino's, spread across thirteen humidors, and cigars aged over twenty-one years.
But, I digress, I recommend, when trying a cigar for the first time that you buy two of them, after all many variables can affect the taste of a cigar, and for the most point it involves the condition of the person indulging in them.
