Starter won't engage

I can't get the engine to crank. I have plenty of battery power but starter does not engage, and I don't even hear the relay clicking. Any one know of a common problem where I can start?

Try checking if the Bendix Spring is not broken or fails to engage or it could be the solenoid. Let us know how it works out.

I am your worst nightmare. An intelligent smart arse.

Simply replace the starter, odds are it is shot. Take it to any auto parts store and they will test it for free.

Most likely it is the starter and new or rebuilt starters will come with a new solenoid especially Chrysler or Dodge gear reduction starters. If in doubt remove the old one and take it to an auto parts store to have it tested.
