StarCaft 2 was announced yesterday, and I guess it will be released sometime in 2008 - and that would be 10 years after the original game was released! Was there any sequel in the gaming industry that was released so long after the original game?
Doom 2 was released in 1994, and Ultimate Doom was released in 1995. Doom 3 was released only in 2004.
Fallout 2 was released in 1998, and Fallout Tactics (a strategy game) was released in 2001. Fallout 3 is still in development.
UFO Defense was released in 1993 - UFO Aftermath was released in 2003.
Sid Meier's Pirates! was released in 1987 - The new Sid Meier's Pirates! was released in 2004.
The Bard's Tale was released in 1985 - The new The Bard's Tale was released in 2004.
