Standard for bone graft and implantation simultaneously

What is the standard for placing dental implants (4 implants in upper for full denture) simultaneously with bone grafts on knife edge bone structure?  Full upper and lower dentures had been worn for 12 years prior to implant procedure.

Also, would a CT scan provide a better basis for implantation feasiblilty than a radiograph?

Thank you
