Is it a bargain or isn’t it? Is it the game and fun of the search and purchase so many enjoy? Is it childish fun between family members or friends? The answer lies subjectively with the participants.
To some it is a ridiculous waste in argument time. Others … they live for all those big discounts of the finer products in life. They enjoy the search, the mental rush, and find satisfaction psychologically in languishing themselves with treasures from the hunt … scooping someone or beating the retail system.
Bottom line: Does it matter? If one gets a heck of a bargain that represents quality, savings, and good long-term usage, the status quo in dollars shouldn’t matter. As the adage states: “a dollar saved is a dollar earned.” Saving money always extends a families buying power. – It’s when the values are not there that it becomes cheap and foolish, rather than inexpensive and smart.
