Stacy and more mom

Stacy and her mom were talking about the misprint in the paper about a $169 cashmere sweater that was advertised as $16. (Stacy’s mom went to the store two days ago and brought four of the sweaters in different colors. Two for the mom, one for Stacy’s sister as a present and one for the moms sister. Stacy is allergic to Cashmere.). Any way Stacy said “Mom look at the bargain I got all those tops for 99 cent.” Her mother said “I think I got a better bargain than you. I mean $169 cashmere sweater for $16.” This got Stacy upset. Stacy said “why don’t you think my tops are a good buy and are you saying they look 99 cents.” Her mom said “No they are beautiful but a $169 sweater for $16. Are you that insecure that you need my reassurance for 99 cents.” This got Stacy even more upset and said “why you don’t think my tops are worth more” Her mom said “Yes they are worth more than 99 cent but not $169, how much do you think your tops are worth?” Stacy said “$40” and her mom said “Sounds good” Stacy said “I feel as if you are putting down the tops” her mother replied “No I am not, but I am not going to jump up and down for joy” Then Stacy’s mom tried on the sweater she brought for $16 and said (to prove a point) “Well are you going to jump up and down for joy for mine, well are you, well are you” Stacy called me and I said to her no your mom is not saying your tops aren’t beautiful and look good she is just saying price wise she got a better buy because the she got $169 cashmere sweater for $16. MY QUESTION: DO you concur/agree with me?ok When Stacy brought the tops three days ago her mother said these tops are beautiful. ok When Stacy brought the tops three days ago her mother said these tops are beautiful and they are closeouts from department stores

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
You should write a book named: "Stacy and her Mom, Best Srories".  Where do you get those stories ? - I can't believe they are true.  It seems that they have nothing better to do in their lives but argue over nonsense.....  Not to much communication abilities, not too much emotional intelligence, and not too much respect (specially Stacy to her mom).
As per your question: Yes you are right and Mom is right too (she saved more, and made a better bargain..... and that doesn't mean that Stacy did wrong.... she also had a bargain, but a smaller one.....).   Tel Stacy and Mom to better concentrate on the shiny part of life, enjoy, respect and love rathen than have arguements on 99c or 160$..... That's really not that important...
Enjoy the weekend and your Holidays,
Best regards,

"Even the most ordinary man can make a difference, he just has to believe he can."

Is it a bargain or isn’t it?  Is it the game and fun of the search and purchase so many enjoy?   Is it childish fun between family members or friends?  The answer lies subjectively with the participants.

To some it is a ridiculous waste in argument time. Others … they live for all those big discounts of the finer products in life.  They enjoy the search, the mental rush, and find satisfaction psychologically in languishing themselves with treasures from the hunt … scooping someone or beating the retail system.

Bottom line:  Does it matter?  If one gets a heck of a bargain that represents quality, savings, and good long-term usage, the status quo in dollars shouldn’t matter.   As the adage states: “a dollar saved is a dollar earned.”   Saving money always extends a families buying power. – It’s when the values are not there that it becomes cheap and foolish, rather than inexpensive and smart.   Wink
