It's been a long time since I needed a spyware killer, but it looks like my father's computer needs one. Is SpyBot still the best one around, like it was a few years ago?

Yes, Spybot is still much more effective than windows defender.

Of course, the more helpful your answers are, the more likely you are to be invited to future questions...
There are no such as thing as "the best", some antispyware will be easier to use by begginers, other will have better detection, other better update, and other will be free.
