Hi,
In the ancient time this time of the year was celebrated as the begining of the year. In fact in the Bible the month of Nissan (Was this year upon April 6th) is defined as "Head of the months"..... and it makes sense: After a dry summer (in Israel, where all the events, written in the Bible, took place) and a rainy winter Spring has finally arrived..... trees, that stood bare and miserable, grow leaves and flowers and simply return to life, as if the were reborn...... I have a plum tree in my garden (SantaRosa).... from about November it had no leaves.... the tree looked so sad and lonely.... grey branches... as if no life ua in itl..... One morning (it was exactly April 6th [or Nissan 1st]) it was full of wonderfull white (with a little bit of red at the center) flowers..... million flowers..... the tree looked like a bride on her wedding day..... 2 days later the leaves appeared..... today the plums are about 15 m"m in diameter....
Best regards,
