Sports in which old athletes are successful

Of course not chess!!! Chess players are at their top between 20 and 45 years. Kasprov retired when he was around 45. Chess needs a very healthy condition.

It's rather rare to see old athletes performing well. In golf, for example, players are at their top between 30 to 40, older athletes don't perform that well.

The same is true for marathon.

There is one sport where old players can perform well: it's horse racing in special conditions. Here I have to swap to french, cause I don't know the exact translation: "trot attelé". Riders aged 50 to 60 often win races. I remember one named Jean Rene Gougeon, that won titles for 40 years straightforward.
