Spice cookie balls rolled in powder sugar receipt

I am looking for a receipt for a german rolled spice soft cookie. This cookie was rolled in powdered sugar, before it was baked. My husband is 70 yrs old. His family spoke german, but was from switzerland. They ate this every christmas, as he grew. i'm not sure the where the receipt originates, but he always said it was german. This is all he would like for christmas. Please help! Thank You, Sherry
