Speaking of dead spots. I have a spot that is approximately 4 feet x 15 feet that is almost gone. Many spots are completely bare. I have dug up an area and put in 3 length of sod, seeded around it to blend in. Looked fantastic! I was really proud of the improvement. About a month later, the sod and seeded area started dying. I dug it up again and reseeded, while I was digging I noticed an awful smell. Picked up a handful of dirt, I almost got sick from the smell. What can I put in the soil to improve it?
