Spam filtering fubar ???

Within the last few weeks, mail from people I have messaged with for years has started to be diverted to the Spam folder.  This started happening after I switched my Spam setting from Medium to Low.  It doesn't make any sense.  If this keeps up I will have to turn off spam filtering all-together.  I don't want to miss any more "real" messages.  What is going on?

To avoid this, just put the senders email addresses into your Addressbook. You can also achieve this by going into your spamfolder and click "This is not Spam" when receiving such a piece of mail.

By putting the people into your Addressbook you basically tell the spam filter that you know and trust this person and it should not filter this person for spam.

The messages are from people already in my address book, and I have already selected "this is not spam" many times.

To give you an idea how bad this problem is, the message from the bulletin board saying you had answered my question was sent to the spam folder !!!  I didn't know you had replied because your message had been flagged as spam .

Yes, it is still happening.  In fact, I did not know you had posted your response to my question because the Yedda notifcation went to Spam and I did not bother to look in the spam folder until today.  This is a real pain!!!

Try adding the trusted senders to your address book.

It worked for my Yedda notifications...

DLS,

Please email your AOL SN/identity to websuiteblog@aol.com and use" Spam filtering fubar" as the subject of your email.   This will allow us to take a look at your account and definitively see what is happening.

Have you defined any folder filtering rules?   This is the only thing that I can think of that would cause mail from people in your address book to go to the spam folder.
