Space Rocks and Meteorite Shower

How much is a space rock worth?

The University of Western Ontario marked a 12 km (about 7 and a half miles) area, where they think the meteorite shower hit Earth.

Would you volunteer to scout the area?

How much would you be willing to pay for a rock that really came from space?

To stay alive you need to learn every day - you never know

Space Rocks and not so rare and all around the world there are events where you can collect them - if you have the drive to collect them.

For science they become less and less interesting as there should be programs that use these rocks for further investigation. A lot of moon rock has been collected in the Apollo project and I understood there is still some left - just in case someone wants to do a research.Sealed

So now paying for space rock - i don't think i would do so - i find these stones interesting but only when i personally find one I will feel attached. So I am waiting till we get the opportunity in the Netherlands Cool

Just to add to the previous answer: The prices depends on the source of the rock (i,e - meteorite) and the variety (class) - if its made of Fe-Ni or carbonate one, if it came from the asteroid-belt , from the Moon, or from Mars. A fair price for a Fe-Ni one is 1/2 $ a gram.

As to  your Question  about searching - I live too far away from the area. (i live in Israel).
