Sound proofing my ceiling

i want to insulate my bedroom from the noise coming from my upstairs neighbours . the construstctor advised me of using rock wool density 100 and then gypsum board underneath it (false ceiling). my questins is : is it useful to stop the heels sound and banging and moving furniture sound coming from above ?

i will try it in my bedroom only but would the noise coming from upstairs spread to my room through the other rooms not sound proofed in my home e .g . setting room or corridor between rooms and if , yes, would it be lower after sound proof ?

sounds like your willing to shell out the money, or your landlord maybe. you should look into cork. basically the stuff they put in the top of wine bottles. it is great for soundproofing, the only thing is i believe you would need to take off your ceiling or the upstairs neighbours floor if your renting. i would definitely look into this as it would solve your problem, but the cost i'm not too sure about. good luck.

Thank you chris for u r answer, but i own the apartment so im not renting and removing the neighbours' floor is out of the question coz they are not the cooperative kind of people. the surprising thing is that using rockwool and false ceiling gypsum board for 1 bedroom only would cost me around 450$ which is in a way affordable, but yet im still not sure if it is effiecient if they bang not directly above me .
