Sound lost on laptop, HELP?

I recently lost the sound on my laptop, It is set at Max and nothing. Any suggestions? I've tried most everything from going to the control panels, To sounds, speech and audio devices and still nothing. Help would be greatly appreciated as GOOGLE CAN"T HELP ME HERE!...haha, just a lil' joke there.. But, please help?

What computer is it? I would contact the manufacturer of the computer. Are you sure it isn't on mute?? I have done that many times.
