Sound on PowerPoint across slides?

I need to add sound to my PowerPoint. I have two parts I want to add, both on the first slide.
I have a Start piece, and a main piece. The Start lasts for 32 seconds, and I only want this to play once. I was the Main piece to come on straight after the Start has finished playing, and I want it to continue throughout the whole presentation.

This is the trouble. I set it up so Start is playing, but Main comes on at the same time. If I put a delay of 32sec on Main, the presentation won't move on until Start has finished playing.

Is there any way I can get Start to play across slides until it finishes, and then have Main come on straight after it and loop until the end, without interrupting the presentation?

I'm sorry if I haven't explained the problem very well...

(If it makes any difference, I am using PowerPoint 2007)
