I have recently connected up a dvd player bought in 1999 which says dolby 5.1 on it to an old hi-fi system bought in the late nineties which supports Dolby pro-logic and has 5 speakers (2 front, 1 centre and 2 rear). When listening to a recent movie dvd, if I select pro-logic, all the sound seems to come from the centre speaker only with only occasional less dominant sound from the oher speakers. It seems to lose the stereo effect that I get when I turn off the Dolby pro-logic switch. Is this normal with Dolby pro-logic?
