Sound Cuts out on TV when appliances come on

I have just installed a 52" TV with surround sound and it works fine until someone turns on or off a light or microwave etc. When that happens for a split seconf the sound goes off and then comes right back on. It also does this with the compressor on the refrig comes on and off. Is this a circuit overload problem? I am not sure.

Take a look at your [FCB.....( FUSE & or CIRCUIT BREAKER) for the sake of not typing over & over] do you have more then two(2) ?. Usually a properly wired house\home\apartment will have more then two(2). If you have more then four(4) even better. Take a peek at where the tv\s.s.(surround sound) are connected ( power wise ). 1st. Does the S.S. have its own a/c, D.C.(transformer) power separately from TV ? Or the power comes from the TV ? What else is connected to the SAME LINE. You can find out if you (CAREFULLY !!!!!) PULL THE FUSE, turn off or shut down the circuit breaker ONE AT A TIME. See what turns off when u do that. Whatever turns off is what is connected to THAT CIRCUIT LINE. Did 6,8,10 different things turn off.??

Some people have 4,5, electrical sockets in one room,  4,5 more in another room and they are ALL being used one way or another and ALL are connected to ONE BRANCH of the line. If the fuse\circuit breaker dosn't fail, something has to act up.

To me it sounds like you have a lot of items on the same circuit.  To best protect you investment, in your entertainment center, I would suggest that you put in a separate circuit to provide power to you entertainment devices, i.e. the TV and the surround sound systems.  This will isolate these items from the drains that are caused from other items powering on.

It sounds like you have a loose nuetral in the electrical panel or behind one of the receptacles. If so then it should be checked immediatly. If an electronic device looses a nuetral completely then it will smoke every electronic circuit board that is plugged into that circuit. I know from experience ive done it myself. try an extension cord to your surround sound and tv just temporarily and plug the other end into another part of the house then see if you still have the same problem. If not then that would rule out that there is a problem with the electronics.

Try asking some help to any electrician out there. They do more about it. Make sure they will test your appliances through test equipment, there are for hire available.
