Sue83,
This was a question I had for my child's doctor. When he was 4 months old we started him on food But it is very important NOT TO GIVE YOUR CHILD APPLESAUCE first. If sweet food is the first thing you give them you will never be able to give them vegetables and them like it. You should first start with the green foods(green beans, peas, etc.) Introduce one new food per week so you can figure out if your child is allergic to anything. Once you have introduced the "green" food you need to move on the orange food (carrots, squash, etc) then onto potatoes and the rest of the veggies, After you have figured out if you child is allergic to any of these mix and match and add fruit. What you have done is build a variety of things your child likes to eat. Chances are when they get 2 years old, the result: you have a child the LOVES their veggies. It worked for both my children. They are not picky eaters, and love fruits and vegetable. Anyone of my friends that have tried this as well also have kids who eat great. Hope this helps.
