Social security benefits from exhusband.

Can i keep getting my social security disabilty plus half of my ex husbands social security at the age of 62. I'am now 61 and my ex is 62. My ex husbands social security is greater than mine. He gets about $1,400 a month. My social security disabilty is under $200.00  i was married 30 years and divorced now for 15 years. If i can get his social security at age 62 how much would i get and can i still get my full $200.00 a month social security plus his social security or should i go back on ssi.  I hope you can answer all of my questions.  I'm confused and have heard different answers from s.S.   Thank you, diamond

Contact the Social Security Administration for an accurate answer but I am pretty sure that you can only receive the higher of any benefits that you may be eligible for..  Examples:  If you are eligible to recieve disability on yourself for $300 per month. but your also would qualify for SSI Benefits at $600 per month.  I think you can draw $300 off yourself+ receive the difference from SSI to equal what the SSI benefits would be ($300 disability+$300 SSI to total the 600 SSI would be).  Yet at the same time if you were also eligible to draw of your X-spouse for $900 per month.  I think you would only be approved to draw the higher of the options.

You shouldnt have divorced first of all- stop trying to take his hard earned money, and earn your own
