I'm interested in:

Social Bookmarking site that can import from RawSugar

I am looking for a social bookmarking service that can import bookmarks saved in

Rawsugar (with either direct access to them, or XML file import).

Alternatively, i would happy to know of a social bookmarking site that can extract bookmarks from RSS feeds just like the feeds rawsugar is creating.

Hi Johnt, got your mail. thanks :)

Rawsugar? Like most Rawsugar exports to XML.
To my knowledge, none can directly import like they do for del.icio.us or Furl.
So you'll have to check out those that can import, or extract, from XML/RSS. Yahoo can.  You can also try those that import and export their own XML format, like Blogmarks, it may work.
I've tried importing not specified formats to Linkagogo (to convert), I can't remember what but some did work.  (Linkagogo has many converters.)
Also some import del.icio.us RSS, maybe it's compatible with Rawsugar?
Check out SB import details here.

wow. that is some big list you have there :-)

well, blogmarks doesn't do anything but telling it's done, but imports nothing from the XML file and an XML of the rss feed. rss url don't work either cause it supports only aoms.

yahoo does work, only problem is that the rss goes only 15 links back, and yahoo doesn't support, as far as i saw, a continues import (or sync) through rss.

also find filangy igooi that u state in ur site that they support rss import, so i'll try them soon.

Linkagogo don't manage to extract anything from the xml file.

and this guy was trying to create a universal social bookmark standart, but i guess nothing came out of it.

so, so far, just partial luck. but i'll keep this question open for now.

thank you very very much.

Hi Jackofalltrade,

I'm Frank Smadja and I'm with the Engineering team of RawSugar.

I'd be happy to help some but I am not sure I understand what you want to accomplish here. Can you explain your motivation?  Are you talking about simple bookmarks or Blog feeds?

Feel free to send me email at smadja@gmail.com.

Hi Frank,

nice to meet you.

i would like to see how other social bookmarks services rank up to yours, and i would like to test them with all the bookmarks i already have at rawsugar.

but most other services, only support api based import from del.icio.us, and since every1 also has their own XML file structure, i can't use ur export to xml file either.

so i was looking for some service which will enable me to import my bookmarks. but so far, only rss import worked, but that's only cover the last 15 or so (although it's gr8 i can get rss from every single one of my tags). and like i wrote before, only yahoo managed use ur rss feeds so far.

i guess it would b extra hard since ur the only one who have tag hierarchy.

thanks for ur help.

My favorite bookmarking tool is OnlyWire http://www.onlywire.com/  which allows the user to store bookmarklets to a number of different social bookmarking services with the click of a button in your toolbar. It supports Raw Sugar among many others.

Hey Jack,

There might be a few things you can try without having to do any programming.  First you could try our search API  (http://www.rawsugar.com/doc/api#apiSearch) which gives you a way to export in delicious format.  For example:

http://www.rawsugar.com/api/search?q=google&format=delicious&count=50

gives you 50 URLs you tagged with "google"  in a delicious format.

Let me know if that helps
