Place approximately 5 de-seeeded and *non-sticky soap nuts in a coffee grinder or spice grinder.
Pulse the grinder until you have a very fine dust.
Cover the top of the grinder with a damp cloth when you remove the lid to keep the dust from flying. It's not harmful but will make your nose run.
Once you have a fine dust-like powder remove the lid and sift the soap nuts powder through a sieve or sifter to remove the larger chunks.
Store in an airtight container to avoid clumping.
*If your soap nuts are sticky they will be difficult to grind and the powder will harden even in the air tight container. To avoid this leave sticky soap nuts out in a dry place for a day or two.
