Smart Car is manufactured by Daimler Mercedes, and has not gained the popularity that they were hoping that it would do, in Europe. Because of general lack of interest in the car, they were possibly going to stop production of the car. I think that the Smart Car, has though recently gone through a re-development of safety standards, and has recently been approved for the U.S.A market. But the general interest in the car in Europe was a disappointment to Daimler.
