Do you know about the Smart Car?

How much do you know about the Smart Car?  Not at all?  Have you ever heard about it? 

Was anyone aware that the smart car not only delivers high mpg, but also top crash test ratings?  One of the biggest concerns about the smart car has to be those intimidating SUVs on the road all around you, but I was surprised to learn  the smart car had good crash test ratings along with it's high mpg.

I'd be interested in knowing how much more money a small car such as this costs compared to a large SUV.

Wisdom begins in wonder

Smart Car is manufactured by Daimler Mercedes, and has not gained the popularity that they were hoping that it would do, in Europe. Because of general lack of interest in the car, they were possibly going to stop production of the car. I think that the Smart Car, has though recently gone through a re-development of safety standards, and has recently been approved for the U.S.A market. But the general interest in the car in Europe was a disappointment to Daimler.

If you are looking for environmentally friendly or high mpg cars, Smart Fortwo is only one of many options. You can find more about them in automotive news and blogs. A recently launched consumer site http://www.pico-car.com/ contains condensed information about Smart and many other alternative fuel vehicles - some of them too novel to be called cars. Smile
