Smart Car Insurance Safe Mileage

As gas price continue to soar, and the Smart car is proved safe, will Americans actually consider buying this tiny micro car?

Adrian Lund, President of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, says "for such a small package it does test pretty well. It gets a good rating for frontal crash tests, also good rating for side impact protection, and an acceptable rating for rear crash protection."

Bear in mind it costs only $12000 and does 40 MPG

Actually small cars and even micro cars like the Smart are having a pretty good year.

They're a lot more efficient, and are cheaper to maintain, not to mention their MPG which easily reaches twice and more than full sized cars.

I wouldn't like to drive a Smart car on highway. Corola, Civic or Focus are better alternatives. Volkswagen Jeta TDI has even better fuel economy. Go diesel!

For knocking around town, the Smart car would be a good deal. That's what it was designed for.  I wouldn't want a diesel car now, at a buck more a gallon for diesel fuel than regular gas...no way!
