How do you put an infant to sleep without using a rocking chair?  more specifically, how do you break this habit after 9 months?

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

You can't go by me, my oldest didn't sleep through the night until after he was 2.

I tried letting him cry it out one night, and someone in a neighboring building called the police on me (true story).

After that I gave up and we did the co-sleeping routine.

So I think you can either give in and rock your baby until s/he falls asleep, put your baby in the crib and try to ignore the crying or give up and co-sleep.

Whatever you can live with.

P.S. Here's a web site which has a question & answer Forum. You may find something here: www.breastfeeding.com. (It's not only about breastfeeding, it covers all kinds of child rearing topics.)

Caring for an infant is not that easy. Putting an infant to sleep can also be hard for a mother. A possible solution to that problem is to use infant sleep sacks for a sound sleep. It is simple to use for your child plus, it doesn't cause uneasiness because of its breathable design.

Sleep sacks are great. But they don't have a darn thing to do with getting an infant to sleep through the night.

Your little one is in the habit of being rocked to sleep and you need to help him adjust to a new routine for bedtime and sleep.

I would suggest picking up a copy of Elizabeth Pantley's "No Cry Sleep Solution" and reading her articles . You can also find more tips on sleep here .

Good Luck and try to enjoy those last few rockings.
