Situations and questions and answers

See my question at the bottom. Thanks

Ok lets say that you were talking to a someone and they said something to you that upset you. So then you decide to ask what they meant and they explained it and you felt better and then you and they parted company. But then later on you started to think about it and you got upset and you called a friend and told them what this person said to you and your friend reassured you but you wanted more reassurance so you went on this website (or one like it) and posted the situation that got you upset and you got even more reassurance.

My question: Is do you now feel reassured and are now able to put it behind you or are you still going to dwell on it.

Personallyit depends on what they said and if I truely believed the explanation cause sometimes asking what they meant makes them relize that you are not stupid and you aren't going to let them treat you like you are. So I think I would dwell on it.

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

Well if you have low self esteem, you will dwell on it and let it eat away at you. If you are a confident, self assured, emotionally well balanced individual, you will let it roll off your back, like water off a duck.

Please get help. Seriously. Please stop obsessing over what people say to you and the comments they make about your size or your looks or what you wear.

What your friends think doesn't matter.

What your past or future co-workers think doesn't matter.

What your mother or your sister thinks doesn't matter.

YOU are the person who is in charge of YOURSELF. It is up to YOU what to think, what to wear and how to feel. If you cannot get a handle on your emotional behavior, please seek help from a qualified therapist.

Enough already.

I might feel reassured, although it wouldn't have upset me in the beginning nor would it have most people.  You, however, will dwell on it, I'm sure.  We do not have the means to reassure you.  The question actually is why are you asking all these questions when you are not listening to the replies you are given?

I have told my daughter over the years to remember that you may worry all day about the comment. Wondering why that person said such a thing. They on the other hand haven't thought a thing about it. Avoid that person life is too short. No good comes from continuing on with someone that is mean spirited.

I think that what this story teaches you (and me and everyone else who read this) is that in most cases, seeking reassurance in other people doesn't help. We all make conversations in our heads that sometimes makes us feel bad about ourselves, and having people sometimes saying something very small effects us in a very profound manner, not because what was said was so horrible, but because it somehow strengthen our fears about ourselves.

I think that this is a good time to not relay on your emotions but to try and see this logically.

The conclusion is this - a bunch of people told you this is not a big deal, both your friend, the person who made the remark, people on this site. So trusting the vote of the public. I guess it's not a big deal.

Yes, move on.
