Sitting can cause weight gain!

I read that sitting too much can cause weight gain and standing up often is just as important as exercise. I got a job where I sit in an office from 9-5. What can I do to prevent weight gain?

It's not only weight gain but many more, not less important, results: In "Brain Longevity" (D"r Drahama Singh): sitting too much is bad for the ogygen supply to the brain.  My best advise is: every 30 minutes, take a short walk, even if it is 100 meters, just around that cubic / corridor.  That's not much, and you are not exagerating.....

Make sure you get up at least twice every hour. Don't eat at your cubicle, but make sure you take breaks for snacks and coffee etc.
