Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.
I merely fill a bag with vinegar and submerge the shower head in it. Use a rubber band or masking tape to hold it on. There is no need to remove the shower head. When I'm finished, I use the same vinegar on my kitchen faucet.
