You are right, but have you spoken to him about it? If he refused did you just ignore the refusal and continue serving him? I think you have to be very firm about this but then again suppose he agrees to pay, what do you expect from the the next step in this relationship? People will exploit if they are permitted and in such a relationship both exploiter and exploited have an unwrittenm agreement.
