Should Knut the Polar Bear move?

Do you think the Berlin Zoo in Germany is making a mistake in transferring Knut, the Polar Bear, to a zoo in Sweden?

Will the transfer be difficult on the bear?

In my opinion, Knut should be left exactly where he is, in the German zoo. Since his birth, he has been a huge attraction, and as well, treated as such. Due to this, he has become comfortable with his handlers and his routines. I feel that if Knut was to be transferred, it would only interrupt the life that he knows in a negative way. Could you imagine being thrown into a different world, with different people, all of a sudden. The scariness of it could possibly bring out the aggresive side in Knut, which on his part, would only be a defensive instinct.

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there are more important issues in the world then Knut.

Sorry, if I got you upset. I see that you and I are both interested in health issues. To me, this is an area of extreme personal importance.

You did not upset me. Different people are passionate about different issues. My point was what may not be important for one individual might be very important to another. That's all. Merry Christmas!

I do not believe it is a good idea to move the bear. It would not only confuse him but add stress  because of the change. It would be a new environment and new handlers.  I also think that they, since the zoo said that they were running out of room, should then expand then, that way Knut would not have to leave. I am a german citizen and have the attitude of "Hey, lets not give Sweden our polar bear!" =P

Maybe this comes late. I don't know where the bear is now. Sure it stresses an animal to move them around. However, one of my dobermans 'Charie' was only to ready. Some folks came over to see him, opened the slide door of the van and he jumped in and sat up proudly ready to make the move. I believe that like humans it would depend on the individual.

Happy Holidays
