I'm not a doctor or anything, but I wouldn't take medicine for being forget full.  I hear a lot of people do brain/memory exersizes before they go to bed at night.  Just simple stuff like simple math problems.

Anterograde amnesia on the other hand is a memory loss wherein the individual can not recall recent events occurring in the aftermath of the trauma, but can clearly recall events of the distant past. Retrograde amnesia is a condition of memory loss in which the individual has no recollection of events preceding or leading up to the trauma, but can recall all subsequent events.
Memory loss could have a variety of causes that could include quite a few chronic medical and psychological conditions, drug or alcohol abuse, trauma, medications and infections.

Put them on a chain, around your neck

Before you try a drug which has no known cure, plus the side effects that could result, maybe you should try a routine.

As you wake up in the morning, you probably have a routine. You may go to the restroom, check on the kids, get the paper, and turn on the coffe pot. But in some way, you have developed a routine through the years.

Do you forget your wallet, misplace your shoes, forgot where your eyeglasses are, misplaced your watch.? If this is common and frequent then you have a memory problem. But if only rare and infrequent, then welcome to the world of reality.

I would set an area aside, such as a table top, counter, get a clear goldfish bowl, set it in an area that you always pass by. As soon as you get in the door, put your keys there. Kinda like firemen do, everything has a place so there is no confusion.

I work in the fields, my day starts around 4am, and ends about 5pm. I have an area where I put my wallet, cell phone, watch, and keys, and boots. I do forget my lunch in the refrigerator sometimes. Also, maybe get a lanyard that goes around your neck and attach you keys to that. Then it is more visible.

I wish you well and hope this may give you a little better way of retaining your keys.
