Hi Jo:  Thanks, but to check palates especially short one they need to be under at the time.  My vet. checked hers when she was spay because she was doing the inverted sneezing at that time.  She is now on anbitoic and is doing much better.  We are sure she pulled something (probably food) up in her nose and got a infection.  Just something I will have to keep a close eye on and hope it never happens again.  I checked with a lot of sites and it seems most dogs have problem with to long of palates instead of to short of ones.  I have make the breeder aware that she should not breed dogs with this problem as she did not think it was a health problem before but it sure is.  Thanks, Fern

Abandoned dogs fight for life

Thanksgiving weekend in a small community near los lunas... Three abandoned dogs and their puppies are fighting to stay alive. Cris ornelas is live at the home in meadow lake with the heart breaking story ... In this pen and two more nearby there are three dogs and numerous puppies. The bodies of at least five dead puppies lay scattered near their mother as she fights to survive and keep her remaining puppies alive. We want to warn you some of the video you are about to see is disturbing. Neighbors say its been weeks since the people who live here have been home. Some people who live nearby have tried to feed ands water the dogs but when we got here this afternoon there was no food and no water. Neighbors say they have called valencia county animal control but have been told animal control has to wait three days before they can do anything to rescue the dogs. One neighbor we spoke to says the animals wont last that long. ' i'm sure they are all dead or dying slowly underneath these dog houses because the sound is dying off slowly everyday it gets quieter and quieter'ITS ALREADY COLD AND WINDY HERE AND TRUJILLO SAYS THE PUPPIES WONT LAST THROUGH THE NIGHT. We called animal control to see what could be done... So far no one has called us back.
