If it's not fun, you're doing it wrong.

You're talking about one of these, right?

Coopers Bung Bore

I don’t know how to add pictures. I hope I did this right.

A coopers Bung Bore is a conical shaped hollow tapered tube with a “T” handle. One side of the cone shaped shaft is bladed much like a scrape.

I’m not quite sure I know what that tool is you have in that picture but it sure looks cool! I’d sure like to have one of those. It resembles a cooper’s bung bore but it’s different.

The thing in the first picture is a "cooper's bung reamer" according to the e-bay listing.

Is this what you have (minus the handle)?

If you have a picture right click to select copy image location, click on the "add image" link in the answer box and paste in the image location on the first line in the pop up box and hit insert.  Once I have an idea of what the blade looks like I can give you some ideas on how to sharpen it or find a video of someone doing it.  All the good old tools were meant to be sharpened.  Usually a diamond file to the cutting blade following the original angles is the best.

I take it that bung holes are tapered?

Yes this is it! I guess the picture I tried to post didn’t work.

It’s not giving me the link in the answer box to paste in the image location on the first line in the pop up box and hit insert. I click on "add image" and hear the click, but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Yes it makes a tapered conical hole. And Yes it is the handle less tool you showed a picture of, thank you.
