Setting My Analog Modem to Auto Dial Numbers

How can i set my analog modem in windows 98/xp to dial 9 and wait a second before dialing a number, and then when the number is dialed wait a second and then do "FLASH" and "41".

i want this done automatically when i dial a number in the phone dialing program inside windows without entering all the codes to do that every time.

The full AT command would be:

ATDT 9W[Number],!41

Here is a set of modem commands you might find interesting:

  • AT - Tells the modem that modem commands follow. This must begin each line of commands.
  • Z - Resets the modem to its default state.
  • , (a comma) - Makes the software pause for a second. More than one can be used in a row. For example, ",,,," tells the software to pause four seconds. (The duration of the pause is governed by the setting of register S8.)
  • ^M - Sends the terminating Carriage Return character to the modem. This is a control code that most communication software translates as a carriage return. (Note, when this is sent to the modem, it is sent as a single byte, ASCII CR (0x0D), or "Control-M" not the two characters ^ and M.)
  •  ; (a semi-colon) - Return to command mode immediately after dialing. This makes it possible to dial more than 45 digits numbers or to walk through interactive menus for example.
  • W - wait for dialtone. The modem will wait for a dialtone before dialing numbers following the W. There is a timeout that must not be exceeded for this to work, generally configured in the S7 register.
  •  ! - flash hook. put quickly the modem on/off hook.

Zappatta got it right the first time.

what i need to know now is where do i need to insert this command so it will auto dial this whenever i enter a number in the windows default phone-dialer?

meaning if i enter a number "8459522" in the application it will automatically do ATDT 9W8459522,!41 in the background.

thanks.

Assuming you are on windows XP:

Start -> Settings - Control Panel -> Phone and Modem Options

Choose location (default should be enough i think)

click Edit button

in the "To access and outside line for local calls" textbox put the string: 9W8459522,!41

I've never tried it before. but i THINK it should work :)

in fact, maybe put it in both textboxes.

good luck:)

ok, i found the answer myself,  just to help other who might have this problem here is the solution:

just add a New "Calling Card" to the phone dialer, in the new calling card options you can set a script to dial some code before and after the requested number, its pretty easy to set up.

hope it help.
