Sending SMS messages for free

Is there a site over the web which allows sending free SMS messages to mobile clients for free?

There are some sites you can send a certain amount of free sms per day , one of those who I use is a msn messenger type of program called ICQ.

also I found this directory of free sms services , I never tried any of them http://www.bomis.com/rings/freesmstext/
