is there eny semicolons or colons in this sentance?

 

I decided to call my grandmother yesterday I had'nt talked to her in a long time.

There is definitely a spelling error. The contracted form of had not is hadn't. And the word is any, not eny.

I believe that most people would put a period between I and yesterday. You could probably defend the use of a semicolon, though.

Below is a picture of a colon.

Following surgery on the large intestine, people are often left with a semicolon, necessitating the use of a colostomy bag; one is shown below.

People with colostomy bags have no desire to become expert in the field of puncturation; it would be messy.

Go to WORD on your computer and type your sentence and then spell check it. It will correct grammar errors also.

The sentence should be written this way, if you WANT to use a semicolon rather than a period, though a period in place of the semicolon would also do:

I decided to call my grandmother yesterday; I hadn't talked to her in a long time.
