You have my sympathies. It's tough for many of us (I am also out of work at the moment).
Keep looking and keep networking - something will come through eventually.
In the meantime, perhaps you should consider taking a class to update your skills. Employers often have an association with the school or agency which offers the class and may hire students directly upon successful completion of the course.
