Search engine duplicate content detection process

Hi, how's the search engine crawler avoids indexing duplicate content from within the same domain and across domains? naturally, it can't run a "document match process" against the rest of the documents in its index at the "decision moment"

Cheers,

Amir

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt ...

The duplicate content issue has been addressed and solved by the search engines years ago - I could'nt tell you the technology that is involved in identifying duplicate content, what I do know is that this is all done in batch.

A search engine will run a series of tests and while doing so rank sites as well.

recent talk about duplicate content and search engine penalties has come about under the name of the minus 30 penalty that I have recently blogged about.

Hopes this helps !

Organic SEO Tips, Checklist and Updates

My take on duplicate content is that there is a calculation in the algorithms to allow only one same content page. All other pages are not given a high page quality. The page that gets the credit for the content is the one that is most popular based on number of backlinks. This goes for same content at the same website.

Same content should be avoided to make all your webpages of high quality.
