Screen and system lockups on Orange HTC tytn II

Have a new Orange(UK) HTC tytn II - out the box no additional software, worked 3 days then began to lockup. screen froze & unable to make/receive calls or messages, soft reset gave 1-3 minutes working time before screen froze again. only fix was a hard reset to factory settings, this gives between 12 - 24 hours further use before lockups start again. Orange have replaced with new unit.. now having same problem - is it Rom/Orange software/Windows mobile? any ideas?
