Scratched by stray cat

My daughter was petting a stray cat today when the cat scratched her. She has a superficial scratch on her hand. I have cleaned the scratch with soap and have put antibiotic ointment on it. Do I need to worry about taking her to the doctor?

If it's not fun, you're doing it wrong.

Probably that would be a good thing to do.  There other diseases besides rabies to worry about from cat scratches.  If it was your cat, I'd say don't worry.  But since it was a stray, you might want to get a doctor's opinion.

Only if the area changes, she has other symptoms of being sick, and if the scratch does not heal.
