Satin ribbon quilts

My grandmother made quilts out of satin ribbon. Has any one ever seen these or know anything about them?

I saw a picture of a cigar ribbon quilt, made from the ribbons wrapped around cigars.  But basically you would sew the ribbons onto a precut foundation muslin square until the square was covered.  You then sew the squares (or whatever shape foundation you choose) together into a quilt.
