Sarah Palin's appearance at Fort Bragg ~

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The U.S. Army has reversed its position and now says it will open Sarah Palin's appearance on Fort Bragg to media despite fears the event will turn into political grandstanding against President Barack Obama.
Fort Bragg officials said Friday in a news advisory that any interested media will be able to attend. They should have reversed the decision.  Palin is a former governor of the nation's largest state and vice presidential candidate.   She's qualified to share an opinion and the media shouldn't dictate which candidate shares his or her views.  Last I heard there was freedom of speech not media censure.

It is nearly impossible for the "media" to stick to the subject at hand.  They are unable to control their ignorance 90% of the time or to write a true news story.  It upsets me because I took journalism courses years ago and was taught the rules were:  Who, What, Where, How, Why.  No personal opinion, stick to the facts surrounding the subject at hand.  Today's Media is totally irresponsible when it comes to the age old rules and unable to stick to the subject at hand.  Yes, it should be open to the media but any questions asked not directly involved in the topic at hand should be rejected and if the media person continues off the subject they should be ignored and/or removed from the site.
