Do You REALLY Know Sarah Palin?

A fellow poster shared this enlightening view of Sarah Palin with me and I just had to pass this article on.

Sarah has gotten so much negative press from the left wing loons and the lamestream media that it makes me sick.

Let's take a look at who she really is.

(Hat tip to R.A. Shipman)

By Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman.

As posted in comments on Greta's article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin.

The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la" (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2. Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the "when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning - I imagine - that she's packing heat herself). I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4. Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5. For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. Then, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up. I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Should a known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her.

I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents' wives.

So "You go, Girl."

I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals. I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media.

great article  Dan

Her Book sold 2.5 million already

Sarah Palin: A Real Lady!

What a lady!

Disheveled,

wearing a scale covered

fisherman's slicker,

pulling the salmon

net alongside her husband.

A photo-op?  I think not.

Having children,

no abortion for

the "special one."

What a lady,

truly no politicks as usual.

Resigned to free her state,

resolved to do what must be done.

Where are the women of N.O.W.?

Where are the, oh,

so democratic women’s

organizations that fist and nail

fight the slightest slight,

except for this lady,

this real lady that's maligned

and insulted in every way.

This real lady

that is so feared

because she is a real lady.

No more donations from

my depleted pocket for

National or State.

Donations only for Sarah.

Donations only for this lady,

this real lady,

this real lady  that I so admire.

May God see us through

this abomination we’re

into, and may God bless this real lady!

The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would hire them away. - Ronald Reagan

She is a American as much as "apple pie" When she was running for Vice President the American people and her Republican party allowed the news media to dishonor her. I sat in my living room and watch the various news stations and choked what they were saying about her. She is a real American, not a cheat nor a fraud or even a fake! I said over a year ago and still say it now, if Sarah Palin runs for office again, I will support her in my State I will even go back into campaigning for her!

John McCain's party used her for they own agenda, yet the news media put out if John McCain was to die in office Sarah Palin could not run this Country. Well, many Americans and MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC now know that President Obama is not doing such a great job is he?

Sarah Palin you have my vote and my support that you will run again and come back stronger and take on the mess our government has put on the American people.

Our Constitution is a document in which "We the People" tell the government what it is allowed to do.
Ronald Reagan in his farewell speech 1989

The phenomenon that is Sarah Palin is, for me, reminiscent of my elementary school playground!...It has been well over half a century since I first saw this human dynamic, but it has been repeated for me so many times since that first experience that when Sarah Palin burst into my life last year, I had a glimpse of the future that has come to pass in the real world.

I was not among the most popular kids in school by a long shot; not even in my 4th grade classroom...I had a few good friends, but when it came down to it we were in the minority and most of the group clustered around a few of the “neatest” kids; a couple of girls and a boy who were the best looking and funniest…That is not unusual because it is the way kids behave because they are not mature enough to be affected by more than surface values.

Then one day a new girl was introduced into the group by our teacher…Her family had moved to town from elsewhere and she had no control over being the “new kid”, but she was smiling when I first turned around and saw her standing in the doorway…I thought she was the prettiest person that I had ever seen, but I knew that “pretty” people would have nothing to do with me, so I prepared myself to have one more person in the class that would not want to pal around with me.

That person turned out to be popular with the “pretty people” alright, but also actually talked to those of us who were not among the popular crowd and she seemed actually interested in us and how we felt about the school, the teacher, and the games on the playground…She asked questions of all of us and shared with us how she felt about things.

Of course, the “pretty people” immediately put out the word that she was “talking to “the nerds” and so could not possibly be “pretty people” material…They shunned her even though she tried to associate with them as well as us “nerds”…This really neat person was in my schools all the way from 4th grade through high school and we were friends the whole time; not close, but I never felt that she looked down on me or any of my “nerdy” friends…Some of the popular folks made fun of her for that, but when she was elected to the roster of class officers in every grade and was the head cheerleader in high school and was chosen to represent our school in many programs across the county, those few turned out to be the “nerdy” folks, too, if they spoke against “Ann”; my good friend from the 4th grade…She was eventually selected to be named “Most Popular Senior” for the year book and is the person that everybody wants to see when our class of ’59 gathers for our reunions.

Now, for the two of you who read through all of that more or less personal history I want to give you the reason that I seemingly wasted your time; How many times have we all seen this very same sequence of events repeated in our adult lives by alleged adults?

The immediate reaction in August of 2008 to this beautiful woman from Alaska, of all places, who so electrified practically everyone who heard her acceptance speech was, “Wow!, who is this person?”...She has the traditionally touted American values, she has the usual number of missteps in her life, and she has demonstrated her willingness to both support or oppose any person or group based not upon personalities or affiliations, but upon their values and expressed intentions…She has more gumption than the militant conservative would expect and more compassion than the a radical liberal thought…Multi-talented, and multi-cultural, and in some ways with a multi-faceted personality, Sarah Palin seems to appeal to a wide spectrum of people outside of the self styled “beautiful people” in the world of politics as well as to the culture that is America…She is willing to listen to your opposing views, but if you do not have an acceptable  basis for your position, she will not be moved from her own…If the decision is hers to be made, she makes it and then accepts the criticism and explains her action…If the decision rests with someone else, she is willing to work with that person to get her agenda into the basis for the decision…Bottom line, she is a serious threat to the “established in crowd” and they see that clearly…The thing is that as they continue to decry this person, the “reasonable majority” is getting less and less inclined to just swallow that criticism, ridicule, and sarcasm and Sarah’s opposition begins to shrink.

Of course I am a fan and that is probably for two reasons; first, she is saying things with which, for the most part, I agree with totally, and second, she reminds me of my hero, “Ann”, of my youth.

Peace.

I think people will get a better view of Sarah Palin from her book “Going Rogue” than anything published so far by the so called news people. As an example she tells of McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt’s telling her that they were going to fly in someone to watch her diet as if there was something wrong and she has in her book

I'm a forty-four year old, healthy, athletic woman raising five kids and governing a large state, I thought as his words faded into a background buzz. Sir, I really don't know you yet. But you've told me how to dress, what to say, who to talk to, a lot of people not to talk to, who my heroes are supposed to be and we're still losing. Now you're going to tell me what to eat?”

Randy Scheueneman the McCain foreign policy advisor laid out a very simply case: "Picking a running mate was John's most important decision, and being loyal to John means being loyal to his pick. That makes what's going on absolutely atrocious!"

Schmidt started in again, telling Randy what an awful pick I was -- the "postpartum" problems, the wardrobe "scandal," "legal exposure" for Todd on Troopergate, whatever he meant by that.

So in my mind Sarah Palin will get her day up front with the book buying public without the help of the media or so called campaign advisors from the Republican Party who are jealous of all the attention that she gets from the common sense conservative voters.

Excellent Article ...

I think that's what Liberal Democrats fear the most about her.  She is Independent and is more than empty promises.  She's truly on the side of the people instead of her own interests.

Many Politicians make a "career" of making promises and telling people what they're going to do for them.  Sarah Palin doesn't make promises that she cannot keep.  She delivers and she delivers in the interest of her People, not her political party.

GOD BLESS HER ... I want her to run in 2012.
