Sarah Palin Double Standard

    Sarah Palin is not denying  she comes from a small town and was the mayor from a small town.  Being a Mayor she was responsible for the town  for the tenure of her office whereas your Man Obama was just a community organizer.  He was not there all the time to have the responsibility for the place and the people.  In other words, he was just a passer-by.

Also, Community Organizers are not passer by's as stated in the previous comment. Community Organizers are there for our poor communities, helping those folks find jobs, helping to rebuild the community. Helping to reduce the violence, rebuilding the play yards for the underpriviledged kids, helping with housing problems, drug problems, getting people off welfare and helping them to regain their dignity in society, rebuilding the churches, speaking up for the less fortunate who cannot speak for themselves, helping the elderly get their medication, working with aids patients and pregnant teens. These are things that  mayors would call getting their hands dirty.

I order to become a Community Organizer, it takes someone with love and compassion for people (the poor especially) and someone with great leadership skills as well.

Now that we've gotten all of the "warm fuzzies" out of the way lets take a step backwards.

Step 1. The very day Palin was announced the Obama camp issued that now famous cut about small towns.

Step 2. At the convention she shot back

Now REALISTICALLY which job do you think has more responsibility and accountability.

He was HELPING, and that is wonderful and neither she nor I am belittling that.

She had constitutional responsibilities and accountabilities. Even as mayor of a small town; she was responsible for submitting budgets and once approved it was her mandate to oversee the various departments that oversaw the spending of that budget. She was responsible for getting Federal Funding. The list could go on and on.

There really is no comparisson between the duties & responsibilities of the two jobs.

He helped many needy people and that is wonderful.

She had a constitutional mandate to govern.

You are forgetting that Obama has more experience than just  being a community organizer. The fact that he was a State Senator and a U.S. Senator is being so conveniently omitted. He also taught law and the constitution. As a matter of fact, the constitution is something nobody practices these days. The attitude in Washington is it's either my way or the highway.

I must say that if Mccain/Palin gets in office it will be the same. They have already promised to shake up things, but is it for the better? They are both known for having the same it's either my way or the highway attitude. Is that what we want? Someone in office that will not listen to the American people? I have never heard Mccain mention the poor or underpriviledged. People who are struggling just to live or to get by.

I have already said too much because I am not going to get caught up in any negative debates. I just feel that there is something wrong when we stop listening to the issues and start running on personalities.

To say that community Organizers are not important, degrades those folks out there working to make our nation a better place to live. I have not seen any of the so called mayors and Governors roll up their sleeves, and get their butts out there where the real world is, to try and help those hurting communities. That's the real battlefield we should be fighting on, instead of spending billions of dollars in Iraq.

The point is that she HAS more executive experience...more actual leadership experience...hands on decision making with accountability than he has.

in the State legislature a "Present" vote is a coward's way of voting 'no' (that comes directly from the head of the Illinois Senate from a CNN special).

In the 44 months he has been in the US Senate he has been running for president 21 of those months! During the rest of the time you've never been able to cite me one meaningful piece of legislation (not resolutions) he has written. I'll save you the time...there isn't one.

I'm not saying he is not a good man who has done good things for his community but, he has NEVER been "the buck stops here" person; she has and is.
